ECO-GIRLS MAINE
The Eco-Girls ME project serves as a vibrant showcase of the dedication and enthusiasm of girls aged 5 to 16 as they work to enhance the environment while celebrating their diverse cultures. Over the summer, these young environmental advocates immersed themselves in nature, participating in hands-on activities that intertwined math and science with real-world experiences. They took field trips to enriching locations, such as the Maine Audubon, where they learned about local wildlife and ecosystems, and the Maine State Aquarium, where they explored marine life and the importance of ocean conservation.
Equipped with the knowledge and insights gained from these educational outings, the Eco-Girls have embarked on an exciting initiative to create a book titled "Eco-Girls." This book will not only highlight their experiences and the vital lessons they've learned but will also serve as an interactive coloring book designed to engage younger children. Additionally, they plan to produce a series of videos aimed at sharing their newfound knowledge with parents and the broader community. Through these projects, the Eco-Girls hope to inspire others to appreciate and protect the environment while fostering a sense of pride in their cultural backgrounds.
