Youth Filming and Editing
A diverse group of young people, both boys and girls, were excitedly divided into two teams for their first experience in Acting, filming, and editing. The atmosphere buzzed with creativity as each team brainstormed and decided on their unique projects. One team chose to take on a fun and challenging makeup tutorial, where members showcased their skills by transforming each other with various makeup techniques and styles. Meanwhile, the other team opted for a lively round of Song Association. In this game, they would have to think quickly and associate words with popular songs, creating an energetic and entertaining performance.
Ubax Dagane emerged as a natural leader within her group. She was renowned for her ability to inspire confidence and motivate her teammates. With a warm and encouraging demeanor, Ubax took the initiative to guide her group through the process, helping them to rehearse their scenes and refine their on-camera presence. Her goal was to lead and serve as a role model for her peers, demonstrating the importance of teamwork and collaboration as they navigate this exciting new venture together. As they practiced, Ubax ensured that everyone felt included and supported, fostering a sense of camaraderie that made the experience even more enjoyable.

Their consistent encouragement has motivated him to pursue his goals and has shaped his values. Abdikhadir is grateful for their sacrifices and strives to make them proud in everything he does.
The Founders of UnitedYES
Shuab Mahat, Noor Salah, and Hilowle Adan, co-founders of United Youth Empowerment Services (U-YES), discuss their organization’s origins and mission. Shuab, also a founding member of Maine Youth Empowerment Services (MEYE), highlights the urgent need for strong support systems for youth, which inspired the creation of U-YES.
The trio explores various impactful programs, including personalized mentorships and interactive workshops on life skills, leadership, and career development. They also emphasize community outreach to engage youth from diverse backgrounds and promote inclusivity.
To operate efficiently, U-YES builds partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofits for essential resources to operate efficiently. Funding comes from grants, donations, and fundraising events, with volunteers playing a vital role in enhancing their services.
As they share their experiences, it’s clear how their unified vision shapes a brighter future for youth empowerment. Shuab passionately discusses the challenges faced in the early stages and the importance of U-YES's holistic approach to empowering youth through education, mentorship, and community involvement.
